The German family business Bischof Druck GmbH is at Mark Andy's Low Migration Event in Poland. Originally a small printing company specializing in offset and copy-through forms, and later expanded into the local label market. A good conversation with Stefan Bischof and one in which several other printing companies can recognize themselves. September 7th, 2017 your hardworking INKISH.TV team went to Stavanger in Norway. We were invited by the Federation of Printers in Norway - to cover their annual meeting. The day before the event we had the opportunity to talk to Managing Director Tom Bjarte Norland and CEO Paul Bjarte Løyning from Ålgård Offset about their new major investment in one new Komori 16-pages web-offset printing machine, a new H-UV Komori 8 color sheet-fed machine and finally a multimillion-dollar investment in a new headquarters. Printing United has been one of the most anticipated events in the US printing industry for at least some years. When a new trade-show of this scale is presented, most attendees, exhibitors, media, and of course, the people working with the event, set some expectations. Printing United was fantastic. Most of the time, exhibitors were very busy, and attendees used the show to gain knowledge, to see new products, to be inspired, and of course, to acquire new products, and services. The show had, in my opinion, fewer innovations than expected. Maybe this made Printing United "just" a perfect trade show because of the size, the optimism, and the fact that the organizers "under one roof" show was right. We will soon write a more detailed opinion on INKISH.NEWS about the event itself, and what kind of things we would like to see in the future. One of the things we have found quite exciting in the global inkjet-journey is how the same printheads are utilized so differently with various vendors. Printheads are only one component in delivering a successful printing machine, and in this film, we talk to Head of Sales Erik Van Sloten about the Mouvent technology. The Mouvent UV-based machines use FujiFilm Samba printheads. Still, the BOBST company has developed inks, drivers, and maybe most importantly, built the printheads into a cluster configuration that ensures speed, quality, and a high degree of flexibility. Jussi Heinämäki is the General Manager of Spandex in Finland - and in this interview from Sign, Print & Promotion, I get the opportunity to learn - actually a lot. I am not so skilled in the substrates and machines for the interior deco market, but whau it's amazing to see what can be done. Spandex operates in more than 20 countries and looking at their booth, and the samples they have brought along - I am blown away! At the Think Smart Factory Event in Kyoto, we found this presentation of a simple-to-use screen printing solution - also produced by Horizon. Everybody talks about highly technical solutions and the move to digital print. Still, for hobbyists and for small shops, the basic investment and the time to produce a garment with print isn't high or time-consuming. This film also shows the craftsmanship that is the foundation of many of the products we produce. We like this short video showing t-shirt print 100% analogue.

EFI is one of the largest software companies in the printing industry - and of course, also delivering some of the most recognized printers as well.
