Maya Staels at the INKISH NON-EVENT 2019...

INKISH hosted for the first time ever our NON-EVENT. The Non-event is celebrating the people that have been in front of the camera, or been supporting INKISH during the past years. This is a new recurring event, and the idea is to give space for the people we have featured to connect in a new way. We invited 150 people, and 32 decided to join us. Our guests came from Japan, Canada, USA, UK, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark - and we are confident that next year, even more, will come. We asked most of our participants to talk LIVE during the dinner - and here is Maya Staels from Belgium. Maya Staels has worked with PR for many years, and both with established PR-companies, leading to developing her own PR-company. Among the customers from the printing industry, you find Kornit, Memjet, and CHILI publish. Enjoy!

Matthias Miederer · KAMA · PreDrupa LIVE...

Matthias Miederer and Morten Reitoft discuss the developments at KAMA and their plans for Drupa 2024. Miederer, who started working for KAMA as the Head of Product Management earlier this year, explains his role in strengthening the link between sales and development. He introduces KAMA as a supplier of post-press finishing solutions, focusing on tailored solutions for short to medium-run finishing, especially targeting the digital printing market. Reitoft showcases a product from KAMA's customer, Studio on Fire, emphasizing the added value and quality KAMA's equipment brings to print products. Miederer agrees, highlighting the company's commitment to providing efficient finishing solutions that help customers offer more to their clients and gain new jobs. They discuss KAMA's new product, the Hammerhead, a digital embellishment machine capable of coatings/varnishes and metallization. Miederer explains that the Hammerhead continues KAMA's tradition of building solid, robust machines while integrating efficiency and speed for digital embellishment. The machine offers a B2 platform ready for B1 and can run at 5,700 sheets per hour, making it flexible and suitable for various production needs. Reitoft asks about the potential market for digital embellishment. Miederer acknowledges the slow growth compared to digital printing but sees increasing interest and adoption. He emphasizes the need to educate graphic designers and the benefits of digital embellishment in offering flexible, tool-free, and unique finishes compared to traditional methods. They then discuss the FlexFold, KAMA's high-speed folding and gluing machine with a high level of automation. Miederer highlights its quick setup times and suitability for the pharmaceutical market with built-in Braille functionality. He mentions that KAMA will showcase the ProCut 76, FlexFold, Hammerhead videos and samples, and animations of new robotic solutions at Drupa. The conversation wraps up with Reitoft noting the importance of KAMA's solutions and looking forward to seeing Miederer at Drupa in two weeks.

Occasionally during Corona times, I was using photography just to take self-portraits. And as a kind of journal, really. I know it was hard for so many other businesses. Some of them, sadly, didn't survive. But what I think was good from that was that it caused us all to pause and to reset. This is a photograph I took. And then there's no painting involved. But it's all done using image manipulation. And it's one of the things that's great during Corona times. And it's something I want to spend a little more time doing. So, I sent this photo because that can be my office now. All I need is an iPad and some chocolate. But what it shows is that we don't have to be stuck in our work offices all the time. That I can work from home. I can say to my wife and daughter: Yeah, let's go away for a couple of days. But I bring my office with me. And if I do have to stay at a hotel somewhere, I could work in the evening. While you're there remotely you should be saying to someone: Hey - give me a quick tour around the factory. Just show me the video on your phone. So, I use technology among places like LinkedIn and Help Forums and I get to meet and talk to people I would have never met in the real world otherwise. We take that offline. We have a Zoom together. I might have an online beer or some online chocolate with them. So, all these things can still happen with technology. I'm not saying that technology is will end all. But we can do an awful lot with it. A lot more than people think we can. It is a lot easier for me to work from home. And every day practically I go for a walk or a run. It's not very populated around from where I am. Well, if I choose the right places, it's not. But it's amazing what pops into your head. And sometimes I'll come back having had a lovely walk, thinking about nature. And other days I come back having had a brilliant business idea. Sometimes quite radically. If that email doesn't get answered for an hour it's not going to be the end of the world. This is Martin. He is my office elephant. So, I may be working on my own, but I've got someone watching over me. Making sure that my attention doesn't stray too much. So, I'm okay with that.
