It was a tough one to pick. Because I'm always like talking about myself. But I kind of reflected back on the last couple of years. And we've all had our ups and downs and our struggles. But I had a few other things that came in play. And I just needed to take care of myself. I spent a lot of time on webinars. And spent a lot of time reading. Kind of self-improving myself as far as the industry. And then my life outside of work. That's probably my favorite crosstab project to run on. I enjoy having projects go on a 640-size press. The harder the project is, the more fun I have with them. The right customer really appreciates what you do for them and understands the value they're getting. Says a lot about what they think about me as well as our company. Maybe I was sucking up a little. You know, it was a lot more to do with the camera. And I thought, well, I need to have a good background. And INKISH was as good as good as any, right? Everything from this conversation we're having right now to you halfway across the world to... You know, I'm meeting with clients. I met with one in Vancouver, British Columbia. And so, it's almost like a little show and tell, like a reading school. You know, you turn in the pages so that each one can be reviewed. And so that's been kind of a nice way to look at crews and talk about them. It can only bring us closer if we are able to. But finding the right people to connect with or finding a person to connect with. You know, I had come across a few of your videos. Maybe it was in one of the like the printing impressions emails that I received or something along that lines - a while back. I just watched one of your seminars. But I hadn't seen anything in a while. And then it just... I think a lot of that was just so much information out there. And then... I've got 17 kilometers of stunning, stunning, beautiful white beach in front of me. During lockdown I actually moved to a beach house. And I thought: Well while I'm still here, let's get some quality living. Coming back to South Africa, it was circumstances in a way beyond my control. If you look at where technology is, where the work is, where the customers are. I miss that interaction. I do miss the rush of being on top of the latest technology and trends. What Covid has done, it has almost brought a human side to people's lives. Learn to be agile. You've learned to cope. You've learned new ways of getting information. I've met awesome people and I've taken on a V-Press web-to-print agency. I've gone down roads with, you know, the likes of like the Deborah Corn’s and the Pat McGrews. I mean, we really are involved, I suppose, in each other's lives on a daily basis. We are four generations of print in our family. So my grandfather, he operated a web-press. Both of my parents worked as factory workers in print shops. I have deaf parents. And so it was obviously a huge challenge for them. But I always wanted to dress up like the ladies upstairs. So kind of that was my aim. My daughter is in print. I'm so passionate about this industry. I absolutely love it. My career started at Heidelberg. I joined in Marketing. I was running the marketing department. Heidelberg and Kodak had this joint venture. And they launched digital. I would never in a million years think that I would be supporting a cause to save baboons. But when I looked out my window, there was this huge baboon sitting outside. The moment I found out about it...the more. I think it just got my heart string. And I can see I'm making a difference. And I'm bringing print into the picture. Jacob Aizikowitz, founder and til June 2019 President of XMPie, became a pioneer and visionary for print in the digital age. His topic was always to synchronize or align print and digital communication, what we call today cross media or omnichannel. Andreas Weber, CEO of INKISH D-A-CH, picked-up Jacob’s current article on ”Why is Print Not Frequently Used in Enterprise Marketing?“, published by American Printer end of October 2020, to set up a great conversation.
