Substrates and effects are quite difficult to show on video and though we rarely do this on INKISH.TV we really liked the new lookbook V2 from AMS Spectral UV. President Steve Metcalf presented the lookbook at Print17 and we bring here a more or less un-edited version of his presentation. What is worth thinking of is the fact that the entire book is done on a 6-color B1 KBA printing machine with one LED UV lamp. No effects have been added in screen afterward - so what you see is what you get. The lookbook shows the potential of UV-print and since both inks and investment in UV is dropping these years and you even can buy equipment from all the major vendors with pre-installed UV - AMS Spectral UV - now a part of Baldwin - has really pushed their way into printing companies worldwide. As Steve Metcalf also explains in the episode - the ink densities can be dramatically increased and since curing is instant you can even print with high densities on un-coated substrates, on plastics and this, of course, opens up for a lot of new applications for a printer. A while ago we also spoke to Marc De Jong from Deltabach in Holland about his investment in LED-UV and as he explained he was having his company in a relatively small place, the instant drying of the printed paper gave him extra space since he didn't have to stock printed paper before binding. With Baldwin's investment in AMS Spectral UV, it is, of course, interesting to see whether LED-UV will lead over H-UV. Baldwin delivers both technologies.

Not only has the new generations of UV- curing made print even more fantastic over the past years - but with AMS's development of LED-based UV - the company has become tremendously successful on the global print stage. This is a short presentation of Slava Apel from Amazing Print Tech - a Canadian software company producing - well, as Slava says himself - Web-to-Print software in a nutshell. The software has become one of the major solutions in the printing industry and won numerous awards and prices. Slava Apel is also a quite interesting man since he is also writing books, articles and participating in industry events. I am quite sure we will see more to Slave here on INKISH.TV. Stay tuned!

Sign & Print is the leading exhibition for the printing industry in Scandinavia - and though these exhibitions are small compared to DRUPA, GraphExpo and other international exhibitions, these exhibitions can do things, that the large ones can't. The Sign & Print exhibition in Oslo has been recognised by both visitors and exhibitors, by it's high quality of visitors, exhibitors, service around the show. The Exhibition also has a range of speakers teaching the visitors everything from InDesign to sharing success stories in the market. INKISH.TV enjoyed the Sign & Print show in Oslo - nice people, warm atmosphere and a great potential for all participants.

Being at an exhibition is ALSO about having a fun time - of course, and at GraphExpo at least the two guys from TEC Mailing Solutions had some great fun and also caught some attention from visitors and other exhibitors. We got a chance to talk to Scott Eganhouse VP Business Development and got a nice conversation about what TEC Mailing Solutions does and why they were dressed like clouds. At the Argos Inspiration Days 2018, Richard Askam gave a FANTASTIC speech using an Island to illustrate the obstacles in the printing industry. It was entertaining, educating, and a great inspiration to end first Day's Inspiration Day.

Hamta International Group is a family owned company in Iran that have specialized in various industries. One of them is the printing industry where CEO Reza Sezavar among his duties introduces companies from outside Iran into an industry that is ready to invest. After decades of embargo's, a quite big industry needs investments and Hamta International Group is ready to service partners. Quite interesting inside in a country that for many has been a closed territory. We at INKISH.TV has already decided to see if we can raise sponsors for a tour to Iran to see the potential - interested?

INKISH.TV have been for the past two years been invited to participate and cover the annual meeting held by the Federation of Printers from Norway. We have of course showed some film from the events and also participated in visits with members in the areas - but here is a postcard that we did from Stavanger - I like the music Jan Majnik have selected for this film - so I hope you also will enjoy this postcard. As cover page we have selected a photo with CEO Magnus Thorkildsen - and though he may look thoughtful - I can guarantee that he was in a good and cheerfull mood at the event - and I chose to use this photo also as our acknowledgement of a great corporation with Magnus - who here per January 1st is not longer CEO of the Federation. He will, however, continue to do some work for the Federation - but we will see him as an active partner in Grafkom - we look forward to that. All the best and thank you!

INKISH.TV, of course, was present at Sign & Print in Stockholm and it was really a great event. Exhibitors were positive, audience were positive and as you could see from the latest "Conversations" with Peter Ollén who is responsible for Sign & Print, he was also very happy. INKISH.TV covered GraphExpo for the first time held in Orlando, Florida, USA. It was a really cool event and here we give you a small postcard from the event. During the next weeks we will give you a lot of interviews from the event. Stay tuned.

DRUPA is an amazing exhibition and it is simply amazing that more than 1.800 exhibitors is able attract almost 300.000 visitors from 184 countries. The show last for 11 days and exhibits equipment, consumables, software, hardware, applications and more. For any media it is almost impossible to cover all 19 halls and all products at the show. To the printing industry. PrintNext18 in Stockholm was by far the best event in the Grafkom history - more than 230 participants from many countries. For the fourth year in a row, Chili Publishing is hosting their SPICY talks - this time in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Almost 200 people from all over the world attended the conference that gave tremendous options to talk techniques, business, development and, networking. INKISH was attending only on the last day - but it was great and we hope to cover the full event at SPICY talks19. Shortly we will bring an interview with Don Schminkey from Channel Fusion and a Conversation with CEO Kevin Goeminne.

Peter Froberg is a partner in the company Innovation Lab and one of the speakers at the recent Grakomdagen in Denmark. At the event, he gave a speech about maybe one of the most hyped expressions, namely Disruption and we asked for an interview afterward to understand more about the difference between disruption and innovation.

One of the products under the FreeFlow umbrella is "Core" and at the annual meeting for Federation of Printers in Norway Per Arild Alfheim explained the value of automation. In a break, we got a chance to talk with Per Arild Alfheim about why printers need to invest in automation and workflow.
