Highcon was the first customer on INKISH, and what a journey the company has been on - from a startup to today a publicly traded company. At Graphics Canada, we meet Boris Bogdanovski, who manages Canada and parts of the US and explains the success of Highcon. Among other things, he explains how Highcon is developing high-energy lasers able to cut corrugated cardboard without burned edges and without burning the substrate. We will soon be showing two new films from Highcon - one in North America and one from Europe, but this is a good starting point :-)

Rotomail is, by all means, a fantastic printing company and is a living example of how Digital Transformation is not only about technology but also the mindset. Rotomail came from a background being an IT service provider, to Direct Mail, to now also being one of Europe's largest digital book printing providers. A vast number of printing machines from HP and Canon, embellishment from Scodix and MGI, binding equipment from Tecnau, Hunkeler, Contiweb, and Kolbus - but what makes Rotomail stand out from most is the software 'Bronte' that ties all the business processes from customers ordering books to plan, to imposition, to proofing, production, and invoicing - all seamlessly integrated, and with no pre-press planning at all - all super optimized. In this film, CEO Alessandro Antonuzzo explains the ideas behind the strategy and implementation, and as Rotomail is the owner and the company that developed Bronte, of course, proudly talks about the capabilities and how it can help other books-of-one-companies, should they choose to invest in the maybe best end-to-end solution on the market. It's been amazing seeing the Ahmedabad-based web-to-print developer's journey. We saw the company for the first time at a Print Pack show in Greater Noida in India, and from then at both Indian and international shows in many different countries. The company has developed the web-to-print solution Design'N'Buy but has recently released its DesignO software, essentially the design module from the web-to-print solution, but now possible to integrate easily with several standard eCommerce platforms - and with a comprehensive API set making it easy(er) to use in many different applications. During the pandemic, Nidhi Agrawal and her team wrote a book on becoming a successful online print retailer. Recently, the company was evenly awarded the Pinnacle Award for its software. Difficult to say this isn't a success.

PRINTING United has started, and thousands of people arrived today, filled with expectations, and so did Deborah Corn, Pat McGrew, and Morten Reitoft. Every morning we will speculate over expectations and evaluate the day passed. The first day didn't go as 100% as planned, as the Las Vegas Convention Center broke all records for bad internet. Not because you always find things to complain about, but in today's world where we need to be connected, and as a media, even more. But here we are, and hopefully, we will find a technical solution in the coming days - but enjoy :-)

Great overview of how it all started and what it has become and means for French PSPs. Print finishing and embellishment are words that we hear a lot as an important topic of interest and diversification. Mistral Graphic operates directly in this space and we learn a little more about them. Great conversation and always nice to hear from people with a long history in the industry.

Label Expo Brussels DID deliver on all parameters (except internet speed and temperature). Still, a very good show, and here in the morning of Day 2, James Quirk and Morten B. Reitoft share their views on the first day and expectations for the third. INKISH will only cover two days here, but still, that gives you thirty interviews - almost all online as you read this!

LabelExpo Europe in Brussels is the most important global show in the label industry, but the maybe more correct "label" would be flexible, packaging, label, mid-web industry, nevertheless, in this Bonjour, James Quirk and Morten B. Reitoft speculate about all the interesting trends and technologies we expect to see the next days. Stay tuned for a lot of interviews and presentations.

It's always interesting to learn from Bodo Tegtmeier. Here, we hear about the new version of the highly popular Cobostack and the new folder K8i—super interesting!

I had dinner with my family. And in fact, we ordered a home delivery. One lesson is 'nothing is as constant as change'. This is the MASTERCUT 106 PER. And the MASTERCUT is special for two reasons. It can put more than 50 million sheets on the floor in a year. Then it is equipped with functions to liberate the operator from manual work. It has a very high degree of automation. But in the end, it's all about quality, cost and time. I think the best strategy is to establish your own future yourself. So, it links the tool with the die-cutting machine. And you can see in this picture there's a little front of the tool. There's a very little RFID chip. The tool can be linked directly to the correct recipient. So that the operator does not need to look into the many thousand recipients which might be existing on a die-cutter machine. Or the good one. Quality is not negotiable. So, the question is how to ensure that the right quality comes out of a particular machine. The ACCUCHECK is not only able to check the text, or the color, or the completeness of the print. But it is also able to quality control and embossing or de-bossing. And metallized surface. DIT means Digital Inspection Table. It also takes the original layout, and it produces with projectors a digital image on the table surface. I took it because we are also working on new digital-cutting solutions. So that I can introduce some digital BOBST laser cutter. The Swiss Chalet is a restaurant. And coming back to our food delivery, which we talked about in the beginning. How to get out of the pandemic is also the outlook. We will be all ready to go back to our famous restaurant. And have a beer together and enjoy it together.
